KOTOR: Thinking of Getting...

Recommended Posts

Umm. Does Lucas really have any say in what Mods are made? I mean, as long as no one is making any money off it, then who can say what happens?

Does Jedi-outcast have any mods? I am not sure....

Man I cant get enough of this game

Baldurs gate, and all those Bioware games have always been lacking something

But this man I could play this for much time to come, Ive already spent 20hrs playing it, and I gotta feeling I got alot more hours to go before I even finish it.

It is turn based. Turn based in real time if that makes sense. If you must have it as the only turn based style, just hit space bar when your turn it over to pause.

I fully understand what you are saying Peter. I was just commenting that it doesn't have the depth of a normal turn based system. It is more of a 'lite' version of what is found in the Baldurs/ToEE series.

I suspect the combat system is such that it can be played on a consle. After all it did originate on the xbox, just a thought.

The control system isn't too bad when you get used to it on the PC, another one of my favourite games of 2003 :)

Getting back on topic, I would love some mods/extra missions etc to come out, but I doubt very much if they will. I also hope that the next game they are making for the xbox (Jade Empire) is also ported/made for the PC as it looks absolutely amazing. There were some movies on Gamers Hell a little while ago and they were jaw dropping. The movies are also on IGN, but I refuse to pay to download them.

ToEE and the BG series had vastly different combat systems. Whilst BG was real-time with pause, ToEE was an attempt at fully implementing D&D combat on PC. ToEE had superb combat, which was ruined by poor AI.

The combat in KOTOR is just plain rubbish. Worse than NWN, even. I mean, what's the deal with my henchmen/party members rushing off into combat without prompting? WTF? Saber combat is dull and uninspiring at best.
