[LOF]skinnylegs
Just bought a new iBook yesterday. I'll post more on that later. Right now, I have other pressing issues. I can't get open application windows to become active. No matter where or how many times I click on the window, my system jumps right back to the Finder! To coplicate matters further, I can't shut down or restart my iBook. I've tried the power button and the shut down/restart command from the Apple Menu with no luck. Help!!! Tim Dorr Veteran Posted December 27, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 27, 2003 Hmm, that's quite an odd one. Is it new or refurb? Have you considered just reinstalling OSX on there? If you *really* need to shut it down, hold down the power button for a few seconds, or just remove the battery.
Steve
Doesn't sound too promising, as Tim says ... get it shut down, either by holding in the power button for 5 secs or so, if all else fails ... pull the battery. reboot, see how it goes... Maybe a OS Re-Install is in order? ... Seems a strange one. If you didn't know, install OS X is a piece of cake, so! :)
[LOF]skinnylegs
Thanks for the help, guys! I held down the power button for 5 seconds and indeed it did shut down! I'll try rebooring in a minute and report back. BTW....it's brand new.
