K-Lite Club

Recommended Posts

Earlier today someone told me to have a look at k-lite.tk as the website is advertising something called K-Lite Club with free membership promising to show you "how you can download unlimited music files, MP3s, songs, music videos, software programs, TV shows, videos and movies".

Does anyone know anything about this? Or has anyone joined?

Is this P2P re-born or just another rehash and method of collecting email addresses?

bah, its all about bit torrent for your downloading needs.

Thanks, i already use BT but there isn't really a way of searching for stuff like the good old days of P2P (it's either there or not - new stuff seems to be available for about 2 days and then gone)... Still it is better technology (in BT) and i don't want to get caught up in a "what is better" debate.

Believe this looks like the same "service" that some people were using when they got sued by the RIAA.

I recall one 12-year-old, in particular, who'd signed up for something like this thinking it was "legal", and this website looks exactly like what I remember her saying she used at the time when I looked it up, though I think the address is different.

Anyway, it's a scam done by folk just playing off of ignorance regarding Kazaa, file-sharing, etc.

Personally, i think some things are better in certain areas than others. I use Bit Torrent for new releases...usually Games or Movies or Software. If i want music then i us klite or if you don't have that, use Soulseek. If i want GBA or other small sized ROMS (GBA, SNES, etc) then a good mirc fserve channel is always good. If i want older Playstation or Dreamcast ISO's, then DC++. And if you want something REALLY rare (music, software, movies, games) then use emule. It usually takes a LONG time for whatever you want, but it's worth it for the rare item.

-whew- So in conclusion...why use one program when different ones may be better for whatever you're doing?
