Duplicate directory listing

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help with this one as it makes no sense to me at all. I have a customer who, when he opens Windows Explorer gets duplicate folders listed. By default it first opens up to his My Documents folder. I wish I had a screenshot to post here, but it doesn't happen every time...

I will try to explain: let's say he has a folder in My Documents called 'clients', I will call the first occurrence clients1 and the second occurrence clients2. When he clicks on clients1 there are no problems as he can view all the subfolders and files just fine in the right-hand pane. When he clicks on clients2 the selected folder reverts straight back to clients1, almost as if it was some type of shortcut (it isn't, I checked that too). I'm pretty sure that it's not this way by design (ie they are not meant to be there), as it sometimes appears this way and sometimes doesn't. To clarify:

clients1 = the first occurrence of 'clients' folder which works correctly.

clients2 = the second occurrence of 'clients' folder which doesn't.

Both reside in the 'My Documents' folder. This is the same for all the other folders also (all are duplicated)

Thanks for any help/ideas.
