Lighthater
I have a 40gb disk that has redhat on it. I didn't setup seperate partition for anything, so everything is on / (except /boot and swap). I tried using ghost to clone the drive to a 120gb, but then it didn't boot properly. It just hangs at the point where grub loads. I wasn't sure of how to fix grub at this point. Any advice on a better way to clone or a way to fix this problem? I'm not exactly a newb, but not the most experienced in this area either. Here is a df -h: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/hda2 35G 17G 16G 53% / /dev/hda1 99M 46M 49M 49% /boot none 504M 0 504M 0% /dev/shm Thanks for any help. Intelligen
use your rescue disk to look at the conf file for GRUB to see if its pointing to the right spot. Maybe it changed your drives around. since you only have on drive it will be hda, but maybe the numbers are not correct anymore.
markwolfe Veteran Posted December 29, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 29, 2003 You might want to check out g4u (Ghost for Unix). It's like Norton Ghost, but supports Unix/Linux/etc partitions http://www.feyrer.de/g4u/
