Ahmed Mohamed receives Surface Pro 3, Microsoft Band and more freebies from Microsoft

Earlier this week, Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year-old, was arrested for allegedly bringing a bomb to school. After arrest and investigation, it was found that Ahmed was simply trying to display his creativity by showing his teacher a homemade digital clock. Unfortunately for him, his teacher felt threatened and decided to make a judgment call. But, in light of the situation, there has been a tremendous outpour of support from social media and important figures.

The U.S president invited him to the White House, Mark Zuckerberg invited him to visit the Facebook headquarters, and Hillary Clinton tweeted support for him. Now it appears that Microsoft has also extended its support to Ahmed by sending him a mountain of tech goodies.

The Redmond giant sent Ahmed an assortment of tech related items including a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and its related accessories, a Microsoft Band, a copy of Office 365 and more. Furthermore, Microsoft also tweeted support as a reply to his mother's tweet:

With the continued outpouring of support, an experience that could have stifled Ahmed's passion, has now turned into something a bit more unique and somewhat special. While the incident will no doubt resonate for quite some time, the outpouring of support will hopefully encourage Ahmed and other young individuals to pursue their passion in education and tech-related projects.
