^ yup would be a an issue.. Kind of hard to get 120 if your wan is only 100.. Would of hoped you would of looked at that before buying that router.. Can you return it?

This is perfect example at the problem with marketing nonsense.. States on their website

"802.11ac dual-band wireless at up to 733 Mbps for high-performance wireless"  So that would be 300 on 2.4 and 433 on 5ghz.  Which kind of hard to get anywhere close to that then you connect the device via 100mbps wire..  So even if on 300 for the 2.4 and make that down to realistic /2 or 150 vs the 300PHY I still can not get anywhere close to that because the wire is limited to 100 or about mid 90's since you can never actually see full wire speed in real world performance because of overhead of protocols, etc..

And if your doing wireless to wireless that is automatic /2 of the bandwidth.. So where exactly is anyone getting anywhere close to those numbers.. Just kind of nonsense to make a device with 433 for 5ghz and then not even put in a gig interface.  So you could get the actual real world performance of 433 of about 200..

Well what is your budget?  And do you have any AC devices?  Or just N?  And your devices do 5ghz?  What is the layout of the place - 5ghz does have a lot of coverage area.  To be honest not really a big fan of any wifi routers for good wifi coverage.  To really cover a place in good wifi coverage you need multiple AP around the place.  Even here in the US where walls are very wifi friendly ;)  You should really look to something like unifi to get some cost effective AP what are POE and allow you to proper place them in the ceiling for good coverage.  The new AC line are very price friendly at range from 89 to 149 here in the US.

Now that you are getting to over 100mbps internet speed, kind of pointless if that all in one soho router gives you crap speeds where you most need wifi coverage in the house, etc.  And doesn't leverage that speed everyone in the house.  I just put a new uap-ac-lr in the kitchen to give me full coverage even out on the patio.  Max out my internet even on the patio now - my new 1st world problem is my older ipad wifi is not fast enough ;) hehehe

I have the 1043ND and I can say that it doesn't handle a lot of open connections very well but it would probably do what you need in terms of bandwidth.  Just expect to put limiters on torrent like programs.  You can also put DDWRT on it but it makes the wireless a bit slower.

How's the compatibility and stability on that UAP-AC-LR?

How many connections do you then have on torrents? Does DDWRT fix that? Before my connection upgrade I had a small TP-Link router which also dropped WiFi a lot of times, but I googled a bit and found a solution, had no problem after that, but it doesn't support that high speeds-

If your running torrents over wifi - your doing it wrong!!  That protocol is so freaking chatty it would be horrific over wifi for anything else trying to use that wifi..

I have 2 iphones 5s and 5c, 3 laptops all with different wifi cards and my son's nexus all using it without any issues.  Along with harmony hub and nest thermostat that connect without any issues.

No this is all wired.  Only mobile, laptops and printers are on WiFi.  DDWRT helped with open connections but cuts your wireless in half I think.  As long as you don't push it with torrents it was a decent router.  I would leave the stock firmware because of the wireless performance.

No I'm not doing that. I just had 4 phones and a laptop on WiFi. I'm actually seriously considering buying Asus RT-N66U now. It's a bit pricey but I hope it's worth the money!

    • I gave up on browser ad-blocking extensions a few years ago, replaced them with Adguard. Not perfect but overhaul is a nice app that does the job on both Windows and Android with the respective versions.

When they kill that we get to watch Firefox and Brave get a boost in user market share.
    • Block by DNS ad blocker! I dare you! I will even layer unlock Origin, on top of my internal DNS, if I need to and I don’t even block ads today (I really should but this type of behavior makes me angry). I suppose I could also just be lazy, and add the flags myself, back to each release (it wouldn’t be that difficult).
    • Wonder what MPs have ties to these privacy/verification/data harvesting companies that are going to step in this time. Last time under the Tories half the cabinet had fingers in the pies, heck even the PM and his wife at the time was working for silicon valley, probably made a fortune.
