Both Nick Heidfeld and Simona de Silvestro acquired penalties following the first London ePrix of the weekend.

Mahindra Racing’s Nick Heidfeld and Amlin Andretti’s Simona de Silvestro have been handed post-race time penalties following today’s London ePrix.

Heidfeld, who had originally finished the race in eighth place, has been penalised for attempting to use FanBoost twice during the race, which has seen him handed a 50 second penalty, dropping him outside the points-paying positions.

De Silvestro, however, has been penalised for exceeding the maximum allowable energy. She exceeded the 28kWh limit by 0.1kWh in a race which saw her claim eleventh place.

De Silvestro would’ve inherited tenth place after Heidfeld’s penalty, but the addition of her penalty has seen her handed a 50 second penalty, meaning Stephane Sarrazin is promoted into tenth place.

As a result, Sarrazin continues his season-long points-scoring run. He and Sebastien Buemi are the only drivers to have scored points in every round this season.

^^ I did see that when it first came out, but there still hasn't been any official word from either ITV or the FIA.

As much as I'd like to see Channel 4 pick up the series, BT Sport seems more likely.
