canadian397
ok, I was looking through Windows Xp & 98 and it looks like in the year 2100 it could have the same affect as 2000. If you go through the years in your clock it ends at 2099 and then goes back to 1980. I started wondering if this could be an issue. Could it be? (Yes I know probably Xp and 98 will be dead by then, I'm just wondering)

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted January 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 1, 2004 I had an unpatched system affected by Y2K, the clock got reset, that was all. Also, when it click over from December 31 2099, windows rearranges the system clock to support more years, mine is set to January 1 2100

Marduk
Well in 2100 what we're using now will be like a 386 today, well even worse, so I don't think there will be any worry over this at all.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted January 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 1, 2004 In 2100 we will probaly all have quantum computers, which would be able to hadle millenias of dates, so i dont think it really matters.

Darran
Because they fixed it before it could. I have a computer from before that, it worked with no problems before or after and I know loads of people whos PCs work. It was just a gimmik for people to get their PCs altered. If it aint broke don't fix it.
LordHatrus
yerp... 2100 is a while away still ;) Think we should be worrying more about Y2k4... It affects UNIX apps :o but not windows *doh* :pinch:

So I think that's the most important thing we need to be worrying about now ;) :p
