New PS4 want to install 2TB HDD

So looking at Sony's site it seems pretty easy to swap a new HDD into a PS4. In my case it will be a never booted new PS4 for Christmas. My question is with a 2 HDD cradle can you use Partition management software to image the old HDD to the new rather than doing the whole make a PS4 OS install Flash or disc  and do in essence a clean install. So can it be done?

No, you need to do it as directed by Sony on their website. Make sure you download the whole OS firmware image (>850MB) rather than just the update (<400MB).
