Manhunt

I do not know how many of you have played or owned Manhunt, but I have to say I really enjoy playing this game. I was just wondering, how many of you think Rockstar games is doing this to spite all those people who try to get their games banned? I mean Rockstar must realize now that the more bad publicity their games get from groups who want to ban it, the more people are going to buy it. It is like when you are a kid and your parents' told you that you cannot see a movie because it has too much violence or nudity in it, but it made you want to see it even more. I just think that Rockstar is uping the "shock value" with each game they produce to create more contraversey, which seems to make their games more popular.

Also do you think Manhunt has gone too far with the violence and gore? It is a huge step up in that department from GTA. Personally I have no problem with it, I just think that a lot of people are going to get peeved when they see someone's head get hacked off with a machette or some other gruesome death that is in the game. It is probably only matter of time before some little kid immitates it and then the same groups who were against GTA will be up at arms about this. I was just wondering about your guys thoughts on this game.

The violence on the game doesn't bother me one bit.

I can't say I really enjoyed it, as I took it back and said the disc didn't work in my PS2, and got Disgaea instead...

Anyways, Rockstar has to try to push the limit, as that's what the company's goal is. Controversy creates Sales, Sales create Money, Money creates happiness.

Go Eagles, btw.

I have not played nor seen any screenshots in the game. Does not bother me one way or another, whatever floats your boat. Freedom of speach here in the US which I guess none of these groups respect as long as it stays within there values etc. Whatever.

Can you give some examples of what the content is in the game??

I rented it and thought it was an ok game. Not as good as GTA3/Vice City, but it is a different kind of game. I thought it kinda gets boring after a little while of stalking people and then watching the "kill camera." I guess the biggest variety will be the different weapons later on. I'm not really that far into it, so I guess it could get better.

Hmmm lets see, the longer you sneak up on someone the lock on cursor changes colors. When it hits red you get the most gruesome death scene, gray is the second most, and green is the last. By death scene I mean it shows you a close up camera view of what the guy is doing.

*****RATED R PART BELOW*****

Basically you are an escaped prisoner on death row and for some reason you live through your execution. Then you find this mysterious earpiece and when you put it on this guy is instructing you what to do if you want to live. From there you find various weapons such as a plastic bag to suffocate people with by placing it over their head or to store a severed head in, a glass shard to stab people in the neck with, a brick to throw at their heads in, a baseball bat to start bashing in their heads, a machette to hit them in the stomach with and then keep hacking away at their head until it comes off, a crowbar that you stab in their stomach and then start stabbing their head in with, a shotgun to practically blow part of their heads off, a sickle to slice their head off in one shot instead of hacking away at it, a metal wire to put around their neck and slice it off, and much more. For each weapon there are three kinds of violent deaths you can perform on someone.

Knowing how slow news reporters are, it will be months before they pick up on it. By then the game will be old and no gamer will care. I am telling you guys, this is 100x more gruesome then GTA and it crosses whatever line GTA set with violence. I did not even know about this game until I went to a friend's house because he was telling me I just had to see this game. So I suggest you get it or rent it if you like this kind of stuff.
