Scorbing
People were can I get an icon changer to customize my icons that actually does work? Iconphile sucks. Iconpackager doesn't do the job right neither does ActiveIcons. E-icons is worthless and full of bugs. Is there anything else out there that can do the job right? LunaC
I just installed IconXP a few days ago and it seems pretty good. Microangelo wasn't all that great for customizing XP.
BroChaos Veteran Posted February 1, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 1, 2002 where do you get iconXP? i agree, microangelo wasn't that great. ciao! joe
babis
hmm.. i think he meant customicons.. anyhow both are by aha-soft still they don't change 100% http://www.aha-soft.com/cicons/index.htm
Scorcho
i actually think Microangelo was great for customizing XP's icons. you can right click on any file-type (dlls, word docs, etc.) and change the appearance system-wide in a snap with it's Explorer integration. that said, i use Iconphile for most of the system-level icons because they're organized all in one spot. Cuzzo
I have also tried most of the iconchange soft outthere and, i think that IPHILE is the best,it changes every icon! ITS FREE! :)
Chad
I've been using Microangelo and I think its a great program. But, I'm looking for iconphile 2.1. Could only find old versions

LunaC
Here's the link to IconXP. http://www.aha-soft.com/iconxp/index.htm I just tried Iphile (thanks for mentioning that one!) and must admit I'm rather impresed it by as well (and that one I believe is free, IconXP is a trial.) Finding the place to change your icons in IconXP isn't to clear, it's in view -> customize windows.
