aafussy
I'd recommend: NBA Live 2003 (you might find versioon at a reduced price) or 2004. I have the PC version of 2003 and I can play it well with a Sidewinder joystick (Icreayed a custom controller config). My cost:AUD$45, NBA Live 2001 (AUD$20) FIFA-I have the 2000 and 2001 (2001 cost me about AUD$20, works well in XP). Getting 2003 soon (as this will work with any Intel Graphics controller-2004 does not) Madden 98-2002 versions (try eBay) NHL 2003-best version I've played, quite good graphics and a neat and user friendly menmu based interface
IlliniPi
It would've taken you just 20 seconds to read the part where he says no sports games...but instead you added in your choice.

MegaManXcalibur
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 would defently be on my must-own list. Command and Conquer: Generals is decent but I'd go for RA2 first. SimCity 4 is a great game. The Sims may be an idea if you don't already have it.
