World of Warcraft Alpha Leaked

Recommended Posts

Er... yeah. Last time I checked, it was an incredible year for games... Call of Duty, Prince of Persia, Knights of the Old Republic, Halo PC, Max Payne 2... that's just a small amount of the awesome stuff that came out last year!

This was the year that we were promised the next generation of first person shooters. As one article put it, the year that PC gaming would reclaim the crown from console gaming. Now articles are saying that this is the year we shall see the next generation of first person shooters. (unless everything decides to delay again and the market is again flooded with crappy console ports)

Unreal 2, though impressive, flopped.

Half Life 2, delayed.

Doom 3, delayed.

Duke Nukem Forever, forget about it.

Deus Ex 2, very impressive but met a lot of criticism.

Halo PC, WTF! This is the buggiest heap of....well, it sucked. Worse than a console port.

Call Of Duty, the only impressive first person shooter, but the engine was nowhere near next generation. Q3 is good but very old now.

Prince Of Persia, not my taste. (heard it's a console port)

Knight of the Old Republic, not my taste (hear it's just a console port anyway)

Max Payne 2, great game but nowhere near groundbreaking. Same game engine as the first one

Vice City, see Max Payne 2.

Bloodrayne, console port. (arguably tomb raider clone)

Freelancer, after 5 years of waiting, seeing there was next to no freedom and didn't meet up to expectations.

I'm not saying every game that came out this year sucked, but it's been a very poor year for games development despite the massive steps in graphics hardware.

In fact, of the so called next generation we saw 2 products: Unreal 2 and Deus Ex 2, both with mixed responses.

Maybe a port but it was a VERY well done port by BioWare as it was meant to be a PC game in the 1st place. If anyone here has played it, they know it doesn't feel or play like a crappy console port (*cough* HALO *cough*).

and this is the reason PC games market is falling... consoles are getting more games than us guys because "1337 pr1cks" hack and steal alphas betas and distribute no cd cracks warez etc...

I hope Painkiller aint delayed from this, that game looked so badass..

how would it delay it?! its not a regular game with a limited life span or w/e, its a mmorpg....its totally different. People do not play mmorpgs the same as single player games. ive had this sitting in a folder for a month and i havnt touched it, i even forgot about it, and now i still dont care because i have no way of playing it, this leak wont matter. even if people do get servers up to emulate bnet like with other bnet apps. i dont see how playing a mmoprg with a few people on private servers is going to be fun...i mean that wouldnt be a mmorpg

From what I read at izonews, the leak happened incidentally, the hackers have been fooling around with it for over a month, probably what happened is a friend they shared it with leaked it. However It's not all hackers' intentions to leak things to the public, sometimes they do it for their own good. Anyway, I Have not negative comments on this, Why should this leak bother anyone besides Blizzard. They intend to place copy protection regardless. You should save your energy for the hackers you're going to encounter when you purchase and then pay a monthly fee to play this game.
