Yesterday was Super Tuesday, which means 11 out of the 50 states voted in primaries for who would be the Presidential nominees in the United States. Donald Trump won seven of those states.
Now having 316 of the 1,237 delegates he needs, this was a huge victory for Trump. Many people agree with this sentiment, as following the victories, searches for "how to move to Canada" surged.
Simon Rogers, Google Data Editor, was the first to point out that trend.
Of course, "how to move to Canada" wasn't the only search term that had an increase. There were similar terms as well.
Mashable also reports that the Canadian government's web site was reporting slow loading times, possibly due to increased traffic.
This can of course all be a big coincidence. Maybe people just instinctively want to move to Canada because of global warming and because it's colder there. Then again, the biggest trend was in Massachusetts, one of the more liberal states.
