How do I view REISERFS partitions in XP ?

Recommended Posts

How about this?

Have not tried it - but here is the info from the site.

rfstool - ReiserFS for Windows

RFSTOOL allows you to access ReiserFS partitions from a Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP system. Starting with version 0.6, it even allows you to access ReiserFS partitions from Linux ;). It is a complete rewrite of the ReiserFS functions needed to list directories or access files.

Requirements

This tool was developed on NT/2000. The current version has support for Windows NT, 2000, XP, as well as the 16-bit products Windows 95, 98 and ME.

For NT/2000/XP: You need administrative privileges to run this program. Normal users will probably not have the access rights to the raw partition data.

You need to know the drive and partition index of the ReiserFS partition you want to read. Luckily, the new version includes an autodetect feature

Restrictions

Access is read-only. I do not intend to change that, at least for the time being.

Journal data is ignored. These tools show the file structure as it is ON DISK, right now.

License

The code is copyright ? 2003, 2004 by Gerson Kurz and licensed by the GPL.

Chavo - seems you need to learn how to search google : Since a google for "windows reiserfs" lists these as the first 2 hits! http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navc...indows+Reiserfs

Hey good find Budman. It must be hard to write a program like that as ReiserFS is under constant development, it's a moving target. Anyway I've never needed to access my linux partitions from windows as I keep pretty regular backups of the valuable stuff, but it's good to know I can if I need to.

Edit ... Yeah Budman I'll admit I didn't try too hard I said it was a quick ggogle search. I was just trying to inspire NiteFly to use the almighty Google.

hehehe - yeah I agree 100% NiteFly should of looked to google first! But I am curious what you searched for, that you did not find it. If looking for a ReiserFS tool for windows - why would you not search on "windows reiserFS" ?
