Linux Mint Guide

I use and recommend SMPlayer, which has always worked great for me with the Nvidia blobs. VLC on the other hand, I've noticed gets glitchy when using the blobs. Here's a PPA for it if interested;

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rvm/smplayer
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install smplayer smplayer-skins smplayer-themes

Make sure you enable the skinnable GUI then use a skin, I use Modern here.

I like MPV.  It's based off Mplayer2 which in itself is based off Mplayer.  The problem is finding a frontend.

I'll try SMplayer again, but I've never really liked it.

Hey @Boo Berry, consider adding the Graphics Drivers tip and the SMPlayer PPA instructions to the Tips, Tricks and Useful Command Thread please. :) I see those being especially useful for everyone. When you do the Graphics Driver one, I recommend that users go to the Driver Manager (or their Drivers Tab in Software and Updates) first before resorting to the Terminal; but include the procedure just in case they don't have those tools available.

If you'd like me to do that instead, that's fine; I'll still credit you with the info.
