kagaku
From various sleep deprevation studies I've read, staying awake more then 6 days can be detrimental to your mind/body. In one of the studies, they kept lab rats awake for around 10 days or so, and they finally just died. I also read about a radio dj who back in the 40's or 50's, stayed awake for a week for some charity thing; at the end of the week he had completely lost it, was seeing things, hearing things, etc.. He slept for around 24 hours after the whole ordeal, and the people who knew the guy said he wasn't the same. As for myself, the longest I've stayed awake is around 50 hours; I don't really remember much after 40 hours though.

LordHatrus
hmmm..... 3 days, but I took 10 min catnaps, so it doesn't REALLY count.... :( After a while, my extremeties started to go numb (probably attributable to the cold, not sleep deprevation) so i figured, hey, I'll lie under the covers for a second to warm up..... 16 or so hours later....
