not that bas but i really doubt it will work unless its much cheaper than a pc

the only good thing about it is that it doesnt need to install the game (but how would a 3cds game work on it??)

it has some pretty decent partners or whatever. at least more than the phantom had. the thing looks huge though. it looks like it's 4x the width of the optical drive....better have a big tv ready...lol

There are thousands of PC games, far more than video games in proprietary formats (i.e. PlayStation2 and Xbox). And the best games are made for the PC.

hmm, very dubious statements there.

:ninja: beware of false expectations :ninja:

PCs for PC games, consoles for console games ... that's it. What's the point of making a PC system taht can only play games, when everything it takes to play games can give you a perfectly fine computer for doing other things with? The reason consoles work is because they're cheap but of limited use. PCs work because people need them for other things, but can still play games on them.

i can see a small market though. there are some pc games availible for pc and not console. now lets say you and your 3 buddies wanna play one of them. well, most people i know don't have a couch for a pc chair, and a 17 or 19" monitor just isn't gonna cut it. so bam, sit on the couch, and use the big screen tv.

now this is all pointless if you have tv out and your tv is close enough or you have a long cable.

Imagine playing PC Games on a 60' DLP? Damn, screw computer monitors, that would rock.

so you have a 60" dlp instead of a 60' one? hmmm, you must be loaded or lying. :p

No, I don't have anything close to it, but someone had mentioned how they hate the idea of using a TV so I wanted to prove that, just like computers, if you have the right equipment, you'll have an awesome experience.

What a bunch of tools on that video.

Anyway, this idea has been kicked around forever. I remeber when I was 14 trying to build a box like this, but with more capabilities. Not that hard.

If the low end of these units is 399.00-499.00, ... Ill stick with my X-Box too.

The ONLY way this product is not going to totaly flop, is if they somehow find a way to make it super CHEAP, and I mean CHEEEAAAPPP.

Not going to happen though. Also, in the video, they say that no patches are required for any game. Uh ... how in the hell is THAT possible.

This thing is going down in flames. Im putting my 401k on the line on that.

Theres a reason I use a PC to play my games, as oppose to a console. One word. UPGRADES. If a new Graphic technology is realesed, the games are written around that, which means to play the latest and possibly greatest games, you'll have to buy a brand new console.

Also another reason I use a PC is I do all my work at it, and if I feel like a break, I just click an icon and Im on my break, I dont want to have to turn on another console and TV.
