Mabus2K
How do I go about editing the START on the start menu in WinXP to say something else. I did this once before I formated. Any input would be great, also getting rid of the icon on the start menu if thats possible. THanks.
mDagar
To change the "START" to say something else you need to edit the "explorer.exe" with reshacker or something similar. I can't remember what string value it is that you need to edit.

fr33k
download reshacker http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker/ copy the explorer.exe from the windows folder to c: so you can edit it. the little flag is the first bmp. just delete it for start go to string table #37 and edit the word start but put about "????????" 8 empty spaces or what ever word you want there. Then hit the compile script button when your done with that. now save. I would just save over the one your editing. you will have a backup in the dllcache. now reboot hit F8 to the boot options screen, and select safe mode with command prompt, and logon to your account. type this line then reboot copy c:explorer.exe c:windows say yes you want to over write
