JK1150
just wondering, when they say "won't be like 1984" are they referencing to the book 1984 about big brother and all that stuff?

DigitalFreedom
ok, just like last year they released something WITH SAYING A THING at the expo, i bet its got something to do with the powerpc's, maybe upgraded to 2.2GHz, or 2.4GHz, or 2.6GHz?, i guess we'll have to wait till the 24th
mark03
its just saying it'll be 20 years since launch of Mac on jan 24th, isn't it? and the iPod is like an symbol of achievement of what they have done since 1984 i guess.

Southern Patriot
With all the problems Apple's having with batteries and the iPOD I hope this one works.... :x Ok, get this straight. VERY FEW iPods have had problems with batteries, and most of those that have can be DIRECTLY attributed to the users not knowing the proper procedures for recharging this type of battery. You DO NOT let it drain all the way down to zero.

Bling3k12
I think the iPod thing is a BIT cheesy, but re-releasing the ad is cool. Kind of a testament to Apple's history, with everyone a few years back going Apple's dead, they'll never survive. Wonder if they'll be re-playing it at the SuperBowl, or maybe something different. Either way, pretty sweet

You DO NOT let it drain all the way down to zero. i am the user of an iPod, and no idiot. ive had to get 3 new ipods sent from apple, all with their own unique problems. now it may be that i am a big coincidence, but id say generally theyre a bit faulty, and wouldnt assume if i were you that all people with broken ipods are complete morons. on a different note, im real excited for jan

I've sold seven or eight friends on it and they've all bought one as well, and theirs are all fine. No problems whatsoever. I would say that you ARE just unlucky, either that or you are using it in a way that provokes problems. I'm not suggesting that's likely, just that it's possible. Either way, of the ten or so iPods I know of personally, they've all been flawless. As for the commercial, I remember it from when I was a kid, it was cool. I also remember another one with some farmers standing around talking about something, I can't remember what, and at the end the main fella throws up a piece of candy or something into the air and catches it in his mouth and that's it, then the rainbow logo. Can't remember anything other than that, was too little. But yeah, it's a neat ad and it's cool they're replaying it :)
BxBoy
did they reshoot the commercial? or did they digitalized the ipod in?

Southern Patriot
did they reshoot the commercial? or did they digitalized the ipod in? They simply added the iPod digitally. They really didn't do that good of a job of it either if you ask me. The headphone cord seems to disappear and reappear from time to time, and it doesn't seem to move naturally. Apple should have gotten Pixar to do it for them, they probably would have done a better job.
Southern Patriot
WOW i think its that chick from the local Hooters , really good wings the serve.....mmmmm buffalo wings ..ugggghhhhhhhhhh (drool). Interesting point about Hooters. Since the first one opened in 1983, do you think that the costume designer for the commercial might have been a fan of buffalo wings? That does look VERY similar to the Hooters uniforms.
