• Miscellaneous
Additional miscellaneous fixes and improvements

-----

There was a 350MB system update pushed out to my Xbox One last night, I'm in the preview.

OS build is now up to 10.0.10586.1199

(th2_xbox_rel_1603.160415-1901)

There was no post about it, so it could just be bug fixes or a prep update for the first RS1 preview builds.    Anyone else get it on their system?

Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 19042.662 to Insiders
      by Rich Woods

Today, Microsoft is releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview build 19042.662 to the Beta and Release Preview channels. All this means is that it's a preview for this month's optional cumulative update, which should ship within a few days for those on Windows 10 versions 20H2 or 2004.

The Redmond firm did say just a week ago that it's not going to be releasing any optional cumulative updates in December, thanks to the holiday season. But November isn't over yet, as we've seen by optional updates released for versions 1909, 1903, and 1809.

Today's update is KB4586853, and there are quite a few fixes:

Again, this will be released as an optional update for non-Insiders soon, and if you choose not to install it, these fixes will be bundled into next month's mandatory Patch Tuesday update.

Xbox Black Friday Sale features Battlefield, Dead Space, and more
      by Asher Madan

Every week, Microsoft and select publishers discount a number of titles for weekly Deals with Gold, Spotlight, and Publisher sales. This week, games from the Battlefield, Dead Space, and other franchises are available for substantially less. There's also a Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale going on.

Below, you'll find the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 games with their respective discounts. Xbox Live Gold members receive additional discounts on a number of titles through the paid subscription which is denoted with an asterisk.

Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
      Xbox 360
Many of the Xbox 360 games appear to be backward compatible so you'll be able to play them on your Xbox One and the Xbox Series X|S. Currently, Microsoft isn't adding any more backward compatible titles to the program, but that should change in 2021.

Which titles are you interested in? Did you pick any up? Let us know in the comments below.

Microsoft offers 25% discount on Microsoft 365 Business Premium for SMBs
      by João Carrasqueira

This week is Thanksgiving week in the United States, which means it's also Black Friday week, with discounts starting to pop up across different retailers for various products. What some might not know is that it's also Small Business Saturday week, and that comes with its own discounts, at least from Microsoft.

The Redmond company has announced that, starting today and until November 30, small and medium-sized business (SMBs) can get a 25% discount on Microsoft 365 Business Premium for the first 25 seats. This plan is a rebranding of Microsoft 365 Business - the name change happened back in April - and it usually costs $20 per user per month on an annual commitment. With the discount, it comes down to $15.

Microsoft 365 Business Premium is Microsoft's most complete package for businesses, including Intune and Azure Information Protection. These two things are the only major differences between Business Premium and Business Standard, with both including the major desktop Office apps, Teams, Exchange, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

If you're interested, you can compare all Microsoft 365 Business plans here. The deal is only available in the United States, but on the bright side, you can get the discount even if you need more than 25 seats - but only those 25 will be discounted.
