patseguin Global Moderator Posted January 7, 2004 Global Moderator Share Posted January 7, 2004 How does everyone feel about that? As selfish as it may be, I was relieved that Steve didn't announce any. After all I went through to get my dualie, it would take the wind out of my sails to have speed bumps so soon.
JohnO
I was going to get a G5 if they released new ones and dropped the old prices. but they didnt ;(
Bling3k12
PowerMac updates came a few weeks after last year's Keynote event. Apple has kinda broke away from doing all of it's updates at Keynotes.

ss1
I was disappointed to hear that there wasn't any updates to the Cinema line at all. But then again it makes sense that the iPod get's most of the attention since it is their greatist revenue earner. ss1.
Southern Patriot
Actually most of the attention in that keynote was given to the iLife apps. That took up about half of the keynote.

Tim Dorr Veteran Posted January 9, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 9, 2004 i wouldn't be surprised if it happened on the 24th for the anniversary thing It would make sense. Now that the 90nm G5's are out, Apple's just gotta wait on IBM to ramp up production for the PowerMac levels of demand. Remember, Apple made udpates just a few weeks after last years MacWorld SF. pixlnet
Yea he hinted that there will be many product announcements throughout the year. Too many people were expecting them to come out with a new line of practically everything. Every month or so I think it's a good idea to put stuff out there. Maybe in Feb faster G5's, maybe June new Powerbooks, etc. They're probably trying to get rid of what G5's they have then announce new ones. Then effectively, the old ones are sold already so you gotta get a new one. Not sure what's up with those cinema displays though.
Krook
I would give my right...no, left arm to actually KNOW what is gonna happen with the display line. I cant wait to see pricecuts on the 20"
