Got3n
So i ordered a pizza last night, and when the delivery guy came to the door, i opened it, duh im hungry, lol, ok back to the story. Well i got the pizza, and the guy asked -Pizza guy: hey do you like computers? -Me: Why do you ask? -Pizza guy: well i see you have a wall of computers behind you, and it looks to me that you like computers. -Me: Ahh, well yes, actually i am. -Pizza guy: Do you play games? -Me: LOL yes. -Pizza guy: what do you do for a living? -Me: Im a network admin for S**** R*** Hospital -Pizza guy: well im opening a new Lan Cafe down the streen in a few months, and seeing how me and my partner are A+(i snickered inside) certified we are looking for a good network guy, would you be interested. -Me: well im not off work till like 3:30 everyday, but after that im free, usually im on Counter Strike, so i guess i could do something productive in my extra time. After that we talk for like 20 min, he is 28 and his brother is 30 i think, im not sure, but he was amazed that i new so much for being only 21, i explained why i was sooooo smart, lol yeah right. So now im all happy, i get to design a network from the ground up, ifrastructure and all, and guess what, the best part it, I will be using WINDOWS 2003 SERVER as a SERVER, lol, i find that funny. I also get to make the server to my Specifications, he told me the specs of the machines that they were looking to build, needless to say i think they are newbs to new tech, but Im sure i can help them there to(shh i mean yall, lol ill post and you will critisis) lol. All i have to do now, is come up with a fee, I mean i make enough at the job im at now, so anything else i make is total bonus income, i mean im all about making money, but this stuff for me is fun, so i dont think that i will charge too much. bah i will get paid to play games with people all day, YEAH, tis like what i do now, but i have a MUCH bigger network to worry about. IM SO HAPPY :D :D :D :D :D :D

Do you think that is too much.

Do you think that is too much. I've never had to use a net cafe before but that does sound like a lot, especially when you consider the monthly prices of home dsl accounts. What are the other membership deals like, since the one you mentioned was "Gold" I'm assuming there's probably Silver and Bronze... yes/no? EnjoyHIC
You have a wall of computers you can see from your front door? How cool is that... Guest Maverick
Congratulations Goten. :) Sounds like you'll have good fun at this new establishment. I bet a lot of Neowinians here envy you for this opportunity. What a way to get it though, from the pizza boy.
Got3n
To reply to yall, tahnx for the grats, i feel so happy. there is a silver $10/mnth then 10 for the day pass. i dont like that one. or you can just pay the $4 hr. You can Bring your own computer, and pay a smaller fee, but most of the time you are paying for the net use, goot pay for the T-1. lol, i think its cheap compared to this other place here that i goto, its $30 for a day pass, and thats all they have, or $6/hr, i go there only cause there are always people there playing, and i like to game with alot of people. I dont pay cause i know people, and i always take my own machine. But this place that ill be working at seems cheap to that, so im sure we will get alot of business. I live in an apt by myself, and if you walk in my front door(well i only have one door), and you can see my wall-o-computers(4), my main machine with the Dual 18.1" flat panels, and then 3 others, mainly my meadia box(tv and movies connects to my tv) and 2 spares for when my peeps come over we can lan and own on CS. Got3n
hehe welcome to the club, you might not beleive me, but you can ask BLU3S. When i was in High school, i was soo damn experienced in computers, my 11th and 12th grade year of high school, my last 2 periods(4 periods in day) i did work for the school, ie manage servers, install software, upgrade puters, fix puters, and manage user accounts. it was fun, the best thing i would have to say, was that my seniro year, i was teaching a computer class, they added on my senior year, it was basic netowrking and pc fundimaental 101. it was awesome. for 2 years i got paid $5/hr to goto school, from 7:30am to 3:49 pm, i was oncall every day, i would get calle dout of class to do things, and i couldnt get in trouble for it. lol it was awesome. I was the only one to do it too, but sadly when i left school, the freshman that i had been teaching, i have to pick 2 of them to take my place, they went througha trial period of training and they were to take my place when i graduated. High school for me was awesome. It sounds hard to beleive that i was teaching and got paid to goto school but its true, im serious. no lies. if you dont beleive me you can ask blu3s, he is on the boards. The only reason i say its true, is cause my current job at the hospital didnt beleive me, so i had them call the school, it was funny to see the look on their faces. Guest Maverick
Why do schools always run RM Networks? I guarantee you nearly EVERY school in England runs RM shiz. :p The thing is, because so many schools run the software etc, many people have created/found ways around it... lol
Got3n
i found lots of people trying to get "into" the netowrk, where they were not supposed to be. its fun to shut people out. i had one of my friends hack and i would block him. it was a game i played for fun. he was good, out did me a few times, but it was all good. He beat me for the Microsoft scholarship because his gpa was a few 1/10 points higher than mine. :-( but i still went.
cpu killer
About your prices: I'm aware in other countries its pretty much more expensive, but here in Brasil we dont have to pay a monthly fee, we just set up a account at the cafe with the guy, and when u want u add credits (time) to ur account, where in each machine theres a login, and theres a time counter so u get logged off the manchine when ur times over (than u can go and add more). Prices here are like R$3,00 an hour, considering the dollar quotation: R$3,00 / 2,85 = ~USD$1,00 So , according to the standars I play at itd be kinda expensive, and im talkinga bout a 4O pc lanhouse usually serving WC3:FT, AoM:TT, CS 1.6, NWN, D2:LOD, and some more games. And im talking about a nicely setup place, with internet access and caf? as well.. ;)).
Got3n
well there is gonna be a cafe of sorts, a place to sit and eat and lounge, ie with tables couch and tv(members area) eating area will be available to everyone. there will be the max at about 50 puters. Internet access on all of them, and im almost positive that ill be doing gigabit ehternet through all the network. he gae me the specs of the components he is looking at. KT600 Gigabyte board 2500+ 512(2X256) DDR 333 GeForce FX 5700 Ultra 120GB WD Sata 52x24x56 Plex writer Im not a real big hardware guy, but i think that is ok, but if yall can come up with a better combo, let me know, try to stay under $700(full computer=all components)

djgramma
Cool dude. We have to talk sometime when your job goes in full gear. I'm thinking of opening something like that here (what's fueling it is the fact that our company is bringing cable internet here) so I want to bring some sort of coffee place with computers for email and chat and gaming, which should also double as a training centre. Hehe, best of luck with you dude. Cheers
