cspm2003
sup guys? I got a little problem with cs1.5. The situation is that we're planing on making a lanparty @ a friends house this weekend, but we dont have internet there so 1.6 wont work. So I installed my retail copy of cs today, and then tryed to update it to 1.5 which worked well, all the menus are updated, all new maps are there, etc... The problem is that I can't play. when I try to create a new game the following happens: when I set my video options to Direct3d, and then create a game, the screen just goes black and stays black. if I press "esc" key, the game just closes if I set the video to openGL or software, and try to create a game, i get an error message that c:/sierra/counter strike/cstrike/cl_dlls/client.dll libary could not be loaded whats wrong? I could play the retail version without the update, but 1.5 is givingme these problems

Sully748
so its a graphics thing ? if you can play online just let someone else host but you must be sure that you installed the retail 1.5 update or the game will not work
eXclusive
Did you install a MOD update over your retail ? You are sure it isnt a Corrupted warez retail version you got ? If you got a ATi card some drivers can cause problems with CS. But in your case it sounds like you need a new GFX card !
cspm2003
I installed the 1.5 full upgrade. It was like 110 mb. It's an onboard videocard, SiS I belive. I'm using windows 2000
