MrA
Keep in mind that when you mount an NTFS partition, it is read-only.Well, you can write to it, but it is likely to corrupt files, so it is STRONGLY recommended to only READ from NTFS! not completely true. If you're using a kernel with the new ntfs driver, you can safely overwrite file, but the overwrite must be the same size. Also, a while back, someone used WINE to create a wrapper for the winxp ntfs driver. This supposedly allows read and write to ntfs and should be safe since it uses the native windows driver. I personally have not used this since I really don't need to. And I can read/write ext2/3 drives in windows so moving files is a breeze.

I wouldn't trust my data on NTFS. And I find it VERY hard to tell noobies that it *could* be safe. The best answer is: Don't do it! The results of an error aren't worth it. :pinch:
