+BudMan MVC Posted January 8, 2004 MVC Share Posted January 8, 2004 Why not register a domain - and always have your own address. You can do it for like $20 a YEAR. Your address could be yourname@yourdomain.com - something like john@doe.com would look much nicer, and easier to remember than needajob69@yahoo.com ;) example: domain at godaddy < $10 year 1 mail box at godady < $10 year or better; 50MB storage < $20 a year = <$30 a year
idkfa
http://www.evilemail.com has some great email addresses :D <whatever>@if*ckedBillGates.com <whatever>@spittingonyourgrave.com <whatever>@lameassbitch.com etc... on a more serious note, register a domain, they can always come in handy

That is, Joe@Smith.com and Joseph@Smith.com and URGENT@Smith.com and DrinkinBuddies@Smith.com will all get to you (and can be even sorted into convenient "groups" by your email client). Very handy!
johngalt
OK, here are some that I have: Obviously, everyone has a HoTMaiL address, as well as yahoo, etc...(I have 3 of the former and 2 of the latter) I also have: 2 from softhome.net 2 from mailandnews.com 2 from hotpop.com (which ha a couple of preselected domains, like toughguy.net, etc) 4 from netzero.net 3 from flashmail.com Of all these, the netzero is the most stable when accessing with a client, and the hotpop is not far behind. But the best part of netzero is that it is now web accessible as well. Hotpop you can delete the message but not *look* (I.e. view, read) the message. Softhome is being p!ssy with me right now, but it is web accessible as well as pop accessible. Same for Mailandnews and flashmail, though flashmail may not be accepting new accounts anymore, and Mailandnews is iffy when accessing it via POP. To try out any of these domains, just go to www.[domain i provided] HTH

bonobozoot
thanks everyone, what about mail.com is that free. I stupled upon it, is it free to get an email address there?and is it suitable for my working needs... too many popups and ads unless you switched to the paid service. i have two accounts and it is good becoz of their 10MB mailbox size but you would be better off having an account @ Juno/Netzero becoz they have POP3 and offer free 10 hours internet when u sign up. Malechai Veteran Posted January 8, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 8, 2004 I get lots of emails from applicants via our website. I'm amazed at the email addresses some of them use.. totally not appropriate for applying for a job. Anywho its good you're giving it some thought. The most common I receive is @hotmail.com. Any of the free ones are fine though. If you're looking to be professional, my suggestion would be firstname.lastname@hotmail.com (or whatever host you choose)
