P4's removed from Pricewatch.com?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that today, I'm thinking about ditching this Celeron 2Ghz in my notebook. I was hoping they removed them temporarily because of some major sweeping price drops ;)

looks like they've just removed them from the frontpage, seems AMD is taking over, or that geeks that are smart enough to use pricewatch are smart enough to go AMD so Intel links have become useless.

i love intel i think they are better then amd.

my cuz got somethine like an athlon xp 2800 which costed him ?108 and is not OC, it does 2.1ghz

my 2.4ghz is about ?120 and is not OC and is 2.4ghz

as standard i think that not that good, but if it his amd was overclocked it probley just beat mine.

seems bit of a rip off to me

MHz don't matter. Clock for clock, an AMD chip will beat an Intel chip hands down, at a cheaper cost. It's been proven.

*me raises his hand and joins in xStainDx and Crusher*

I understand why AMD guys might like AMD, but why bash Intel?

Intel always has been better, and theres alot more ways we could bash AMD.

But we dont...

So for those who like AMD:

I own both, 1800+ in my desktop and a Celeron 2GHz in my laptop. Of course my desktop outperforms my laptop, but it has better video, faster hardrive and more RAM. I'll admit that before I bought my laptop I didn't think I'd ever buy Intel again. I think some people just like to root for the underdog and try to avoid the big aging 400 pound gorillas. I think some people flaunt there Intel affiliations like some sort of status symbol, Intel must be better because it cost more and Intel has been on top for so long.

Oh well I say use what's best for the job, quit worrying about brand names and be glad that there is competition in the microcontroller world. Without it I'm sure you're beloved Intel wouldn't hesitate to charge you an arm and a leg for your precious CPU.

And I'd give them the arm and the leg for it :).
