Xbox One Anniversary Update Preview may be coming soon

According to Xbox team member Mike Ybarra, the next Preview build for the Xbox One will be coming soon.

The news comes via Twitter, and while it will be available soon, it won't contain all of the new features that will be made available in the update that the general public receives.

We are now less than two months away from the launch of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which is slated to be released in July. The Update will be made available for all versions of Windows 10, including the Xbox One.

Members of the Xbox One Preview Program haven't seen a preview of the Anniversary Update just yet but those that are using Microsoft's new Dev Mode have. Using the Dev Mode Activation app will prompt the user to install build 14290.

Build 14290 has been available since the firm opened up the Xbox One to developers, and Microsoft hasn't released a new build since. It also doesn't contain any new features, other than the ability to test apps on the console.

Back in April, Ybarra also tweeted that Preview Program members would see a build for the Anniversary Update in late May to early June, which is precisely now.

While the Xbox One received the Windows 10 upgrade back in November, the main feature was a new interface. The Anniversary Update should pack quite a punch for users of the console, adding features such as Cortana and the Universal Windows Store, along with UWP functionality.
