AIM info changes by itself?

Question

i can't figure this one out, i need some help guys. my gf uses the latest aim with deadaim installed. she types in her info, and when she goes to look at it, it always changes to something like "happy new years!". i had her uninstall/reinstall, and do a virus check, but i've got nothing. any ideas?

My brother and a good portion of his friends on his Buddy List have gotten it. A couple people at my g/f's college too. Its quite annoying.

here is the thing, in the new ver of AIM, you are allowed to sign on different comps with your screen name. then when the second person signs on(call them PER2 from now on), the info from the second person is #1 prioity, that is what it shows to people. when PER2 signs off, first person (PER1 from now on), will still have the info from the PER2. i think this is a bug. to remove the profile from PER2's computer and have the info from PER1 display to people, then PER1 must sign off and log back on. understand? thats what i have gotten and fixed in my own house. hope that helps, thats my experience with it. confused? sorry  . cheers.

that's not how it infects your system at all. They would have to know your password for that to happen. They simply go in and edit the html file that stores your profile information. Simple as that.
