I have tried installing the version that is supposed to be compatible with XP but it doesn't work for me, after I try and install them, it comes up with a "new hardware found" dialogue box and then can't find the drivers. I reinstalled XP after that as I was annoyed by the box popping up every time I started the operating system. Are these drivers important? I have noticed a significant framerate drop in counterstrike for example. But that could be just the graphics drivers, but I doubt it as I have a GeForce 2 Pro and the latest 12.41 drivers. My system : ABIT KT7A Athlon Thunderbird 1.2 GHz GeForce 2 Pro 512 Meg Ram IBM Deskstar 75GXP Sounblaster Live 5.1 etc. etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Shalayer Posted July 10, 2001 Share Posted July 10, 2001 i used version 4.31 when i installed like you i had an error saying it couldnt find a ide ultradma driver! i just uninstalled it from device manager and its fine with the geforce i dont use those 12.41 certs! i use the 12.90 and thats much better for me :D the 12.40 and 41 didnt display the start menu well! i had shadows showing in the middle of the menu! 12.90 solve that.
