In Forza Horizon 3, Australia is the home of the Horizon Festival. As one of the most beautiful and varied countries in the world, Australia makes the perfect setting for Forza Horizon 3 and the team at Playground has translated the Land Down Under into the largest and most diverse open world ever seen in the Forza Horizon series. Just like the real place, the Australia of Forza Horizon 3 is absolutely massive – in fact, it’s is twice as big as Forza Horizon 2’s map. More importantly, Forza Horizon 3’s vision of Australia captures the spectacular natural beauty, the tremendous diversity, and the environmental variety that makes the country one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Australia’s natural beauty abounds in Forza Horizon 3. From exploring bioluminescent caves that look like something out of a science fiction movie, to skipping across the beach and skimming the ocean surf as you speed past the famed “Twelve Apostles” limestone stacks, there are driving experiences in Forza Horizon 3 that players have never seen before in a Horizon game. Forza Horizon 3 is packed full of incredible diversity. There’s the famed dusty Outback that will be a test of any car’s abilities; blasting through the dense and lush rainforests; testing your driving skills on city streets – the unique driving experiences in Forza Horizon 3 seemingly never end.

Your Forza Garage

You’ll explore Australia in more than 350 amazing cars including incredible models never before seen in Forza, like the stunning new Lamborghini Centenario which was just revealed at the Geneva Autoshow in March and our co-cover car, the brand new Ford Raptor. Alongside Forza favorites, including a new selection of Barn Finds, we’re bringing entirely new vehicle types into the game, all inspired by the diverse world you’ll be exploring. Examples include the Ariel Nomad, Class 10 buggies like the Penhall Cholla, and extreme off-roaders like B.J. Baldwin’s Trophy Truck, and many more. Stay tuned for the full list of cars in Forza Horizon 3 later this summer.

Every Man’s Sky

Whether you’re playing on Xbox One or Windows 10, the world of Forza Horizon 3 is a constant visual delight, bringing you surprises around every bend. The team at Playground have gone to extraordinary lengths to bring you the most visually impressive Forza Horizon game ever, using state-of-the-art technology. But perhaps the best example of Playground’s innovation can be found simply by… looking up.

Customize It

With 350 cars to choose from in Forza Horizon 3, players will be have no shortage of options when it comes to finding the car they love. But for those who love to customize, Forza Horizon 3 will be a gold mine. We’ve got a wealth of new visual customizations for a huge number of cars in the game, including new off-road and rally parts, more than 30 new rim styles from manufacturers like Rotiform, Fifteen 52, and ADV.1 and, for the first time, widebody kits from industry leaders like Rocket Bunny and Liberty Walk. And that’s in addition to the full slate of livery and tuning options that Forza fans have come to expect in the series.

OT - It's a great thing their doing and should be applauded but since this is the first of Microsoft's games that is also available on PC that a thread has been created for I half expect someone over zealous to move it to the general area, I think Gears - Forza - Halo etc should still be kept in the Xbox section as it makes the most sense, but that isn't my decision to make.

Well the "generation" thing is a console thing so... eh... though one could say that racing games have their own generations, but that gets iffy as shoudl you follow the Forza Bi-yearly generation(yearly if you include Horzion as part of the Forza generations) or the GT decade long :p generation

I think this will set pre-order records in Australia outside of CoD, nearly everyone I know with an xbox already has it paid for. They better reward us with the Maloo and VL or I'll be terribly disappointed.

yes, but this isn't being released on the PS4. and being the greatest/best racing game of a generation doesn't mean it has to be on both consoles. because then the "greatest" so far would be some pretty poor racing games :/

If you choose games that span both consoles then IMO you're scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to call "greatest".

Forza and Gran Turismo are generally considered the better races on each console and although you can't compare directly I'd still class them as competition. If you were a new person coming into consoles this generation and you're thing is racing, to get the best experience you're probably going to have to chose based on whats on offer, in this case if you want the best racer then you would choose Xbox if you do consider FH3 the better offering.

Greatest of the generation released on the xbox - put it in xbox category

Greatest of the generation - put it in gaming

But it's an xbox game... either way, it's a PC game to as well. so it belong in gaming anyway, where it was moved...

Just a small news article I read on our main news site the other day, just a more solid confirmation they have been travelling up and down capturing Australian classics.

Quote

Despite the lack of ability to collect Skippy during a race, Mr Knoles said the team was aware Aussie vehicles in the outback are fitted with bumper bars to protect against such an incident.

“We have made sure we have included these aspects with some vehicles in the games,” he said.

When asked what cars would feature in the game, the design director said there would be all of the cars you would expect from an Aussie setting and some that will come as a surprise.

“We travelled around to find the most pristine vehicles Australia had to offer and collected measurements and captured hundreds, sometimes thousands of pictures to ensure we could recreate them as accurate as possible,” he said.

“In fact, there was one car we were struggling to find and one of guys was just about to leave Australia when we got a phone call saying they had located the car 20 hours north east of where he was.

“So Instead of getting on the plane, he jumped on a train and drove the journey to ensure we had what we needed to include that certain Holden we wanted in the game.”

Especially since none of them are limited to XBOX ONE.  (Yes - you read that correctly; none.)

That  is the REAL "defining moment" for this generation's XBOX ONE games - fewer than ten percent are NOT coming to the PC; in fact, all of this generation's flagship XBOX ONE titles ARE coming to the PC as well.  (While last-gen's HALO 5: Guardians isn't making the trip - yet - THIS gen's HALO WARS 2 is.  Last generation's Forza Horizon 2 didn't; this generation, Forza Horizon 3 is.  Crackdown 2 didn't; Crackdown 3 is.)

It's on the publishers and developers whether this will be the single-greatest generation in not merely XBOX ONE gaming, or PC gaming, for that matter - but the greatest generation of ALL gaming (and every which way, form multi-platform to cross-platform).

And yes - I am absolutely serious.

News has been non existent of late, but here's an article about Holden's appearing on there website the SS being featured along with photos of a few more I hope to see. The SS is already in most Forzas so no doubt we'll see it correctly rebadged to Holden for this release. Here

Cars that have been spotted on promotional material so far on the forum. Here

Forza games in the past car information usually starts dropping in July, so we should see some official news and car lists released and day now fingers crossed.

Not released yet, however labeled the greatest.

Hmmmm.

I already have it preordered. Not the highest packaged but the middle one that includes the VIP. Looking forward to also checking it out on my PC no doubt.

Discussion around here seems to flat lining since PS3/360 days, I figure anything to drum up some talk

This item is on ebay uk at the moment, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172285831294 Signed poster, Signed game, Studio tour. If it goes for cheap enough I'll be picking this up and donating the tour to someone on here that lives in the UK from the gamers hangout I guess (Y)

I'm wondering about this too. I have preordered the ultimate version, as I have done w/ the past Forza games. I enjoy streaming my games to my W10 PC, but it'd be nice to have an actual PC copy. Hell, I'd probably pay for it regardless - it's the only game I play these days anyways.

Purchase an Xbox Play Anywhere digital game, play it on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC at no additional cost.

Source

If you've bought the digital version you should get the PC version too. It'll be around the release date of FH3 or soon after. If it's anything like Quantum Break you'll have a code emailed to you.
