Need for Speed Underground Help needed!

Recommended Posts

OK, I was playing NFSU earler and all of a sudden it froze, fine, so I reset it, and then it crashed to desktop when I tried to load it again, the game wouldnt load, just an error reporting message, so i uninstalled it, and deleted every thing that had to do with it including my saved game :( then i tried to reinstall it, I got it installed but it just crashes to desktop even with the updates and the fresh install I need help if anyone can help me solve this problem I'd appriciate it.

Uninstall again, then use a registry cleaner and make sure all reference to the game are deleted.

Then make sure all files for the game deleted from the program folder.

Use something like System Mechanic or Regcleaner for the registry. There are others out there, but you get my drift.

Then make sure you have the proper Direct X installed and configured and also graphics and sound drivers as well.

Once done, reinstall the game, dont run it, patch it immediately and then after patching, run it again and see how she goes.

Post back results.

this might sound silly, but a friend of mine had the same problem with counter strike. it wasn't software related at all. his ram was causing the problem. tell me your hardware specs. if you custom built your pc, make sure all drivers are current and components are fully compatible with one another.

don't use blurr motion in the first place. it jsut makes it more difficult to race. besides, with it off the game runs a lot smoother.

ive had this problem with halo and other games. it tried everything to fix it. It turned out that i just had to redo my hd. I think something becomes corrupt. so do a full reinstall if ya can and see how it runs

lol..my systems powerfull enough to run the game at full detaila and at 1280res.. along with 16aniso.. :D

dead smooth graphics..get around 40-50fps.. but the blurr is the most exciting feature of the game..the speed sensation..its just brillaint.. ;)

Pentium 4 1.8a

Windows XP SP1

Directx 9.0B

Detonator 53.03

and I checked for viruses and nothing came up

What you can do is, borrow a friend who has a more powerful video card, then throw it in your system to see if the game still runs. If it does, then obviously is a video card issue. Or you can bring the game to a friends place who has PC specs similar to yours, install it and see how it runs. If it runs fine for ages on his/her system, then there can be a few possibilities -

1. Something wrong with your software installation/configuration the NFSU is dependant on.

2. Could be a hardware issue.

3. Look

wasn't implying that your system couldn't handle blurr motion. IMO, however, blurr motion makes it a bit more difficult to race (especially online).

try out a more powerful video card.

also, if your 512mb of ram is two sticks, make sure they are two identical memory sticks. i had a friend who i helped build his pc for him...i put in a stick of corsair 256mb pc3200 and he later went to best buy and put in another stick on pny 256mb pc2700. then he complains that his games keep crashing. =P

oh yah, most importantly, make sure your video and audio drivers are current.
