Shock for the fizzly bear!

LOL, yeah, I'm pretty sure animals will know that what they were climibing on was a power pole, and if they touch the live transformer they would get shocked. lol

If the bear had only touched 1 of the transformer leads, it wouldn't have done a damned thing. Too bad the bear doesn't have the mental capacity to know NOT to touch both transformers, as that provides a clear transfer conduit between both transformers, causing the 7.2 kV to arc across through the transfer conduit (in this case, the bear). :)

Either way, she only got hit with 1 phase of that 7.2 kV. There are a total of 3 phases (red, white & blue) that run across those lines. It could have been worse.

Bears aren't the only animals that get shocked by lines.

Here @ Hydro One, I've seen everything from birds to squirrels to deer get shocked by transformers that carry a hell of alot more than 7.2 kV. Some of those lines carry in upwards of 44 kV (44,000 Volts), enough to kill ya on the spot, or cause severe electrical burns if you are lucky enough to survive the ordreal.

I think it is true. It is most likely because of the Page 3 girl and the Dear Deidre column :)

I think that it is written for a reading age of a 9 year old or something like that.
