misecia
Think i should get rid of my TV now... have replaced it with a G4 Cube, 17" Apple Display and TV card and it all works great :) No more missing the Simpsons or getting up at 3 am to tape some obscure french film. Just need to get myself a decent set of speakers. Any suggestions?

SPeedY_B
Apple Pro Speakers, got some myself for Christmas, very yummy. I'm sure that other people will also recommend Harman Kardon soundsticks (and iSub) or the Creatures, info on both at http://www.harman-multimedia.com/ :)

NeoMayhem
As everyone is asking, I'm using a USB eyeTV unit connected to my cable box :) I am thinking of getting one of those, but if you try to burn a VCD, does it take a while to encode, or can it burn directly because the eyeTV is a hardware MPEG1 encoder? How about DVDs? does it take a long time to convert the mpeg1 files to MPEG2?

Southern Patriot
How about DVDs? does it take a long time to convert the mpeg1 files to MPEG2? If you have MPEG1 files to start with, you certainly won't gain anything by going to the trouble to convert it to MPEG2 to make a DVD out of it. Simply burn it as a VCD and be done with it, unless your DVD player won't play VCD's (some newer ones don't because some manufacturers decided not to re-license the MPEG1 format).
