Blue
In the United Kingdom we have an extended choice of education called 6th form/College. The extended part is the 2 last years of american highschool i believe. US College = UK University
threetonesun
,Jan 13 2004, 12:51] thats another thing, and please, dont take it as a flame, but I find horrendous the fact that the american people let that their "pop culture" take more importance that their cultural/artistic one Don't blame us, McDonalds used to be a small hamburger shop, and Mickey Mouse a kids cartoon. Why the things that catch on world wide do I have no idea. Also, we are pretty good at mixing pop culture with art culture. I mean, television and all the programs on it are a perfectly good example of this.
xRKx
but I find horrendous the fact that the american people let that their "pop culture" take more importance that their cultural/artistic one This has often been the case off and on throughout history though - for /any/ country - it's not specifically an American thing. Through the past 2 centuries alone, for instance, the authors and playwrights have, during their era, often (but not always, of course,) been overshadowed by the mediocre creators of that era's 'pop fiction'. Sometimes, however, we luck out - and someone who manages to encompass both 'worlds' shines through - such as Dickens, or Warhol. I believe it's only more noticeable now, as the world grows ever-smaller.

xpablo
So what`s the different between UK and USA? Well Canada & Australia It's sure strange how quickly the scenery changes once you go across the Canada/US border. and then you have the land of Australia, which also kicks ass. Riz360
edit: on another note, you cant beleive everything you hear in the news, and the statistics are BS, people die everyday from guns, and people die every day from cancer, and people die everyday from getting hit by cars, and more than all of those, people die everyday from doctors mistakes in hospitols Yes but cancer and things like these are natural people being shot down the politicians should be doing something about It can be changed. Bowling For Columbine anyone?

Jason the Eighty Eighth
it's obvious this thread will be 100% biased. the Brits will obviously say their country is better, as will the Americans. it's simply a matter of the opposing country not ever experiencing the great stuff about the other country. ...did that make sense?

Blue
I gotta admit though, the Wal-Mart and the amuunition was seriously ridiculous. IMO they shoudnt even have ammunition and guns in a store like that. WAL-MART = a store like CO-OP or something. Imagine that guys.

Banzai
THE UK is also run my a monkey with no brain. I don?t know im from the UK but in the uk we tend to bully people who dare to be different, look at David Blaine in his box, if that happened in the US people would love it. But in the US allot is hidden everything is and that?s why conspiracies happen. Also in the US you have much bigger houses and rooms in the UK every room, house garden is smaller.
