shihchiun
at my school, there is a large market for selling homework... ie: if someone needs a current event done, someone else will do it for them and sell it to them. is this legal?

shihchiun
well, i mean, technically you are selling the work to the person, its not like you can control what they do with it. right?
Fantmx
It is not illegal, but chances are your school has a policy against people doing that. I know at my college getting caught doing something like that will get you an F in the class, or suspended for a term, depending on the severity of the action. enriq760
lol well that's sort of ilegal.. :shifty:
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted January 12, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 12, 2004 Yeah I dont think its illegal or anything, but if you get caught then most likely you'll be asked to do the homework again by yourself maybe in dention or something or you will be automatically given an F. Kinda reminds me of Nelson in the simpsons selling exam answers in the toilets :D

I know at my college getting caught doing something like that will get you an F in the class, or suspended for a term, depending on the severity of the action. and something like that would have to be stated in the student handbook or something, right? thats too bad, i would have had a lot of fun getting people in trouble... :p It seems a locatio conductio operis. mind explaining what that means? lol.. giga Veteran Posted January 12, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 12, 2004 It's against the Honor Code in my school. It's called cheating or Plagiarizing.
Endoscient
It's not ilegal persay. But many SChool Rules arent strictly against the law but you will be repremanded from the school but you can't go to court for it.
matt74441
I don't think its illegal, but schools most likely have some sort of policy against it. I don't see any problems with it, the homework gets done, and someone makes a couple of bucks on it. Its win-win.

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted January 12, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 12, 2004 i was kind of meaning like me selling it (just an example..), would anything happen If it was your first time getting caught I think they would probably warn you, but if you did it a second time they will take more serious action, i.e contacting your parents maybe, and I dont know if you have this in the USA, but in UK schools your given a formal exercise to do, and be signed by parents and it goes in your personal folder thingy (its like a criminal record for kiddies  )

Bruno Hawkaloogie
illegal? hardly However, it is HIGHLY unethical. That should speak volumes. BH
Argonaut
although the pedling of homework might not be illegal, when you submit such work, you are claiming you did it yourself, when you actually did not. It is plagiarizing, and although you might not end in jail, it can cost you your career. Besides, doing the homework is the actual way through which you learn.
