Problem with mozilla and Neowin

Recommended Posts

big hi to all u peeps of neowin

wondering if u can help me here with a problem. Recently my daily visits to the neowin main page have become slower to load up. Im on a 512k broadband connection and newowin use to load up in 2 to 3 seconds now its 2:45am here in uk and its taken me 10 seconds to load up the main page sometimes taking 20 seconds. Im just wondering why ?

ive done all the routine stuff of deleting temp files/folders , internet cache , run adaware etc all the thinghs i can think of and nothing has helped . Its been slow for me all last week mainly between 6pm and 2 am uk time.

what happens is the page starts to load and i get the blue sidebar on the left hand side and the main page is blank just the background colour comes up.

like i say it is now taking 10 to 20 seconds sometimes takes longer and i just leaave it till later.

hope u can find out whats causing this

for me, the site has got a LOT slower over the last week or so- i think it has something to do with these weird text box ads we have @ the top of some of the pages.

Oddly, lately, when I visit Neowin with Mozilla, it loads the logo and the beginning of the page, but kinda freezes at one point, and at the bottom, in the status bar, it says: Connecting to adserv.bravenet.com.... And it takes about 2 mins for the page to finish loading...

Is there something wrong with the Advertisement servers?

Thanks! Neowin R0x0rz j00 b0x0rz!

I am not seeing it even though I am using Firebird too. Maybe it's because I am using Proxomitron?

And what does a proxomitron eat in winter?

sad to say it, but i've had to block neowin ads via adblock simply because it takes so long to load with these guys.

*.bravenet.* - stops all content from bravenet even loading.
