suntzu
Well, happy to say I'm back to Mac! I just ordered my 12" G4 1Ghz powerbook with airport extreme, and a 512mb memory upgrade!! I had a gen 1 17" powerbook but it was to big so I sold it :(. I should be getting it tomorrow so I am sure I'll be posting some questions about new apps etc.... How is the install of the airport card anyways? ***Update*** It's here, It's here 12"/G4 1Ghz/768Mb/40Gb/Airport Extreme/40Gb Ipod woooohoooooo and much to my suprise it came preloaded with Panther! The airport card, and memory upgrade was seemless and easy just as I expected. Well prepare for the bombardment of questions, I'm a bit rusty with OS X. danbalsh
Welcome, "Welcome" AirPort is **** easy to install :) But if you bought it from Apple they usually install it for you.
BTallack
My airport card came preinstalled in my Powerbook G4. But even if it's not, you just have to pull out the battery, open a little compartment, insert the card, and connect the antenna. No screws, takes about 2 minutes. BTallack
what's that aiport card thing? Airport is what Apple brands their 802.11B Wi-Fi cards. Airport Extreme is their 802.11G cards. All modern Apple laptops have built in antennas for Airport cards, so it's just a matter of installing the card.
