thetman
the onboard video on my friends dell does not seem to work with final fantasy xi, it gives a hardware error after crashing to the playonline screen after trying fullscreen. he have added a gf fx 5200 pci card but it does not seem to work properly as it doesnt show anything when my monitor is attached to the card and not the onboard video. any suggestions? the only settings for the onboard video are auto and "onboard" if you set the fx card to primary and attach the monitor there it just goes into standby. then if you restart the onboard connection acts as if it is the secondary connection like it should but nothing shows on the first monitor. updated all drivers, funny thing also is that none of the nview settings are coming up in advanced in displaysettings. what are we doing wrong? Stokkolm
Possibly the display drivers for the onboard video are getting in the way. If they don't show up in Device Manager I would format the system with onboard disabled.
Dashel
Disable onboard video in BIOS and make sure it is set to initialize PCI video first. You don't need to reinstall windows!
MxxCon
bet $50 that puter is dimention 2400 :) dell bios can not disable onboard video. what your friend needs to do is configure bios for "auto", connect monitor to onboard card, boot to windows and then there configure gf-fx videocard as primary and then reboot w/ monitor in gf-fx. i had to do this very procedure for my friend last weekend :)
