My homemade 44 port USB flash drive holder.

Recommended Posts

Today I designed and made a 44 Port USB flash drive holder.  This is to replace that multi-port Hub I bought a while back to do the same thing.

I don't know about you but I have a lot of USB flash drive now I have a place to put all of them.

Random thought.  Where did you find 44 other devices with female USB ports you didn't mind tearing apart?

patent it -- then sell to Google

or wait a week and apple will bring it out as the next best thing in white, gold and black and charge $5000 and then charge you for stealing the idea from them! :p

In case anyone is wondering, i'm still using this..

Sorry if it is a stupid question, but does it do anything? Or is it just a place to plug in all your USB keys that you aren't using so that you know where they are when you need them?

Doesn't do a damn thing :D .. just a spot to plug in all your usb devices so you can find them.

Mine just disappear into a draw. I only use USB for OS/software installs now and even that I'm moving more and more to the cloud.

I have 3/4 32GB sticks, pretty much all I need.

What's that Belkin monstrosity in the back? :P

Out of curiosity, why don't you consolidate the drives into a few?

It's an old wireless G or N usb adapter. A lot of them are just spares with nothing on them. Most of the ones in the bottom left have Windows 8.1 and 10 setups.

I dont like a lot of extra junk laying around.  When I upgrade my flash drive, I make sure  everything from my previous drive can fit and then stop using it.  I got a 128gb drive now and when I start running out, I will upgrade and retire that one.
