Chrome - still can't get rid of 8 preview boxes on opening up

Recommended Posts

Before formatting the hard drive i never had this issue.

I read i need to install an extension to get rid of the 8 preview boxes that appear as i open up Chrome. I did this by installing "Hide most visited pages reloaded".

The annoying thing is that they all still flash up first every time Chrome is opened. Sure they then disappear but i don't want them flashing up at all. I just want it blank.

I did some googling but the results i found only had people responding with 'useful' responses such as "why do you want them removed" and "i like them". That's wonderful, but i don't.

The extension 'New Tab Redirect' will do it

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

Just to ask though - is that exactly what it's called? I just searched "New Tab Redirect" and found nothing?

Thanks. I've just installed that but it totally changes the look.

I know there must be something out there because before the format it was working perfectly. Down side is i just can't remember what extensions i had installed :(

Why don't you just go into the Settings and choose one of the other two options for Start Up pages?  These bypass the New tab page option.

Like, Open specific pages or Set of pages?  Unless I'm missing something?

Just a thought.
