So Yahoo is Racist?

Damn. Actually that would be "So AFP racist?" since the news is from their wire but... daaamn.

That's a bad typo - one you don't want to slip through.

I think that they meant << racial epithet >>rdly, as in: thisdefinition.

The editor that let this pass made a BIG mistake!

He sure did. I've never heard of that word before.. Cool, I learned me something new today. :)

Even so, there are plenty of people to bitch over it. The word is just too close to the "bad" one.

Mitsubishi concept version of a mid-sized pickup is displayed during the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Sales of new vehicles are expected to rebound to near-record volumes again this year, and all signs are that Asian automakers plan to carve out a *igger piece of the lucrative truck segment(AFP/Jeff Haynes)

Apparently you didn't read the whole sentence in the article...nor the definition of << racial epithet >>rdly.

It's pretty obvious that the 'n' should be a 'b'...as in they want to carve out a BIGGER piece of the truck market...not a << racial epithet >>rdly piece of the market. I mean come on...B and N are right next to each other on the keyboard....

Good try at covering it up - but taken contextually, I'm 99% certain whoever typed the article meant 'bigger' - and, you know, with b & n right next to each other. S**t happens.

Sadly, people are going to get ****ed off about it, and rant and rave, when all it was was a simple little typo. Sadly, some people are too sensitive to accept the fact that people might make honest mistakes in the world - so there are sure to be tons of complaints.

well if I was black, and I read that, I would be offended probably. That is enough cause to sue is it not? Im sure I would not be alone in that cause. Not sure if you can sue a news company tho, cause they have the right to say what they want.

"A drunken man gets on the bus late one night, staggers up the aisle, and sits next to an elderly woman. She looks the man up and down and says, 'I've got news for you. You're going straight to hell!' The man jumps up out of his seat and shouts, 'Good heavens, I'm on the wrong bus!'"

...could this be the editor in question...?

You really can't sue... they will use some excuse like free speech, or freedom of the press etc..

Its only a typo.
