Guest
I have been asked to do a speech to my class about the differences between the US and UK cabinets. I have a bsic idea on how they work however i cannot find much information regarding the US cabinet in general on the internet. I am looking for the general concepts around the cabinet (e.g. roles, responsibilities, membership etc etc). If anyone here is into US politics could you please give me a few points which would be useful when making this presentation to the class. Thanks for all your help, much appreicated. Hum
Constitutional authority for the Cabinet comes from Article 2, Section 2, which says that the president "... may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices. ... " Similarly, the Constitution does not specify which or how many executive departments should be created. http://college.hmco.com/history/us/norton/...istrations.html http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/cabinet.html http://usgovinfo.about.com/blcababout.htm
