Dazzla Veteran Posted February 3, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 3, 2002 I'd like to but Sony have my laptop for repair so I haven't got any of the software etc. I'm sure someone else will do it though. It's pretty easy.

Large
Many thanks Correllium, They are perfect, Just what I wanted. Just a quick question, how did you go about that task ? because I want to design some XP icons but not sure how to start, do you use any certain programs, any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again Andy ( From the UK )
correllium
For those one I did this: I opened the original green .ico in Gif Movie Gear and exported as a psd. Then I opened that psd in Photoshop and then made each color (Images > Adjust > Hue Saturation. then check 'colorize' and change the levels til you get what you want). Then once you have all the different colored psd's, just open each in GMG and save as an icon. This is how I do just about all my icons. Photoshop and GMG are all you really need, I do all my editing in Photoshop and use GMG to go between formats.
Large
I download GMG and found it a useful program, but how do export the icon from the shell32.dll file so that I can import the icon. Many Thanks Andy ( From The UK )
correllium
I use ResHacker to do it. Open shell32 in it and find the icon you want then go to Action > Save [icon : xx] ...
