Malechai Veteran Posted January 14, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 14, 2004 Hello.. I just wanted to post this to find out if the issue is related to my setup only or if this is an issue. I have a Radeon 9800pro with 3.10 cats installed. I set AA to 6x and AF to 16x in the display control panel. when I load splinter cell, the AA doesn't appear to be applied. I've tried differing the AA quality but same results. I haven't had this problem with any other games I've played. Do other people have this problem? Is it my setup, the game, or the drivers? Thanks :) /edit.. btw the game is patched to the latest version.
dev/null
either AA doesn't work (with both redeaon and geforce cards) or artifacts is showing when turning AA on, can't remember which it is, so don't bother with it.
Malechai Veteran Posted January 14, 2004 Author Veteran Share Posted January 14, 2004 so don't bother with it. lol easier said than done. i never used to play with AA and AF before my upgrade to this card, and i didn't think either of them were a big deal. but ever since i've started using them now, games look crap without it! :| lol i've went and spoiled myself thx for the post though. i'm glad its not my setup
nekrosoft13
haven't played splinter for a while last time i played it on my 9800 pro was with 3.7 cats, and AA worked only sometimes i was apple to see lights thru the walls i haven't test splinter on 3.10 yet, so you might try the older drivers
syphern
Yeah its probably a driver issue... ATI drivers have dodgy bugs nowdays man.
FatCat
I decided to give Splinter Cell a spin again and found out that because of splinter cells lighting system AA is non supported in anyway, both ati and nvidia removed any kind of AA support for splinter cell. JayPatel
actually there is a workaround for it, when I was using 3.7, all you needed to do was force Anti Aliasing in the driver, and then when the game loaded, look away from a light source, turn on your nightvision, and turn it off, AA is then turned on in the game. DigitalN.
actually, in a patch, i think they disabled AA. not the drivers.
