rezza Veteran Posted January 14, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 14, 2004 we're currently in the process of setting up a wireless network in my shared house... we've got a handful of pcs and one G4 mac... but to be honest i know diddly squat about mac hardware stuff. We're getting a basic wireless router from somewhere (not decided on exact model yet) and some cards. will we be able to slap an airport card in the G4 and have it play nicely with the PCs and the non mac router? can anyone give me some basic advice about setting up a mixed wireless environment? thanks kiddies EDIT: oops, wrong section. sorry mods... NeoMayhem
Yes, it will work fine ;) You can even get a lot of USB Wirelessb cards to work on OS X, but the software is not as nice as the airport software.
Pilsbury
Airport card (or Airport Extreme) is compatible with any other 802.11b or 802.11g wireless kit.
