jnelsoninjax
Every now and again you’ll hear that a group of people took the law into their own hands. Some may stop bank robbers, others might be out confronting bad drivers – but not many will be flooring an alleged shoplifter… while dressed as a giraffe. Yes, a giraffe. But that’s exactly what happened when off-duty policeman Ben Perkins spotted a man fleeing a store, while he was dressed as a wild animal on a bar crawl. After seeing the would-be thief running out of TK Maxx in Brixton, south London, Perkins decided he couldn’t quite give up the day job. He, and several of his friends (who, by the way, were all also dressed as giraffes) ran after the man alongside a pair of security guards from the shop. Eventually, the group (who are without a doubt, squad goals) pinned the alleged robber to the ground while police were called to the scene. PC Perkins later tweeted a picture of the bizarre scene, and said: ‘Not sure if this is a #LifeGoal or not, but just assisted @LambethMPS detain shoplifter whilst dressed as #Giraffe in #Brixton #NeverOffDuty’. Since being uploaded yesterday, the picture has been shared dozens of times. Scotland Yard confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of theft and enquiries are ongoing.
