Louisville Slugger
Well today went well. My first mid-term (Honors English III) was nice . . . We had to match (10) literary terms with their definitions. The second part of the test consisted of (7) excerpts from specific poems we read throughout the year. We had to choose (2) and pick from a list of certain topics to write about. I also had to state the full title of each poem and the author. I think I did well because I cited some lines from both of the poems and included them in my answer. The last part was the four paragraph essay. We had five topics, but we could choose any of them to write about. They had something to do with American Dreams & Realities . . . I can't seem to recall the specifics, but you get the idea. The point values are as follows: ? Test itself is worth 20% of the semester. ? Part I ? (10 points/100 points) ? 1 point/correct word ? Part II ? Literary Excerpts ? (30 points/100 points) ? 15 points/correct short answer ? Part III ? (60 points/100 points) ? EsFCA?s (Focus Correction Areas)us Correction Areas) ? 15 points ? Clear thesis ? 15 points ? Two clear topic sentences ? 30 points ? Detailed references from two readings from our unit used to support answer Sounds reasonable to me. Well . . . in my other classes we basically reviewed for mid-terms as well. As the day was coming to an end my friends we telling me that they heard school might be cancelled tomorrow due to harsh weather conditions. I didn't believe them and school has never been cancelled due to "coldness." After lunch I went to my study and talked with my other friend about it. He gave me some of his Cracker Jacks and we had a conversation about today's mid-terms. I put my head down on my arms because I was exhausted. There was about ten minutes left of school whe"Good afternoon, this is your principle speaking. I would like to make one announcement before the day concludes. Due to the harsh weather conditions we are canceling school for tomorrow."eling school for tomorrow." All of a sudden I jumped up from my chair and started yelling because I could use the extra sleep tonight. Smiles lit up the room as the bell rang concluding a school day which I would never forget.
