frease
I am so sorry to hear that :( But he should have taken it to the vet via a taxi even if his dad was not free. Now the poor fella has died...
LiQuid34
He's barely moving but he is breathing. His eyes are only half open. He had plenty of food and water and I moved him out of his cage in case there was something wrong with it. I don't hear any wheezing or anything, but he moves sluggishly and his eyes are narrow. Any advice? Please help :( Sounds like he got to your stash. Don't hide the Ganja in the cage next time
CloudEngineer
instead of posting on neowin y didnt ya take the poor thing to the vet? You could have walked or taken public transport at least. Poor thing.

Homer
The immaturity in this thread is pretty poor in some places and its kinda ****ing me off. Sure it might be a rodent to some of you, but its his pet and he cares for it. So stop being nasty guys, im sure you wouldent like it if you were in his place. Lazlo Woodbine
Holy crap I hear a little popping sound when he breathes. This is bad. Maybe I can call a vet and get assistance over the phone. This sounds like the poor guy has developed pneumonia. If this is the case then he needs antibiotics urgently. The delay so far, and any extra delay, make it more likely that he won't survive. :(
Lazlo Woodbine
oh and rodents can't catch Human colds Wrong! Hamsters can definitely catch the human cold (they are used to research the condition), and several sites say that guinea pigs can too.
Banzai
Screw how old the pig is. Who cares. How old is the deef who started this thread? Nevermind that either. Dude, if you're this worried about it, posting on the internet doesn't do diddly squat. Now move your ass off that chair and into the nearest vet's office. And don't forget to bring the piglet. :hmmm: Sounds like Rimmer hasnt had any ###### for a while. (not as in ###### cat)

Fear the Pandaz
Guinea pigs are the best. I've lost 3 of them now... and the first two weren't my fault at all, but this one might have been. If I had just payed a bit more attention and spent a little more time with him. He might have needed more social interaction or something? But either way, he didn't die a cruel or painful death.

First of all I'm very sorry for you. I hope you are ok now. It just goes to show you though and this is a message everyone needs to remember. Make sure your loved ones know how you feel about them before it's to late. Pet or human if you show how much you care you won't have any regrets. Sadly in this situation and in far to many others people don't do this and they live the rest of their lives thinking what if. I know this is a hampster here and I should lighten up but this message needs to be said over and over so people don't lose sight of it.
Jelly2003
He's dead :( :( :(I just checked him now and he's gone. There really wasn't anything I could do, I mean, he wasn't just sniffling, he was like half dead when I started this thread. I was pretty sure I was losing him. Sorry to hear that man, I'm a fan of pet rodents (especially rats), loosing them is a hard thing to deal with. The unfortunate truth behind pet rodents is that they are bred to get cancer and other such problems. They are bred as lab animals and also sold as pets. Over the years I've had mice, 4 rats and guinea pigs, and each one of them died from cancer. Its somthing that you have to prepare yourself for when you buy a pet rodent. What im trying to say, is that it is very likely that it wasn't your fault that it died, things like this happen to pet rodents. The important thing is that you have given your guinea pig a good life and a good home. At least it didn't end up a lab animal, and im sure it would have been happy while it was alive. When you bury it, do somthing for it, like make a special cross, write it a poem or somthing. It may sound stupid but it will bring you closure.
